Letter to Successor

Dear Roshni, 

Hello you brilliant human being! I am so excited for you to take on this role, and so honored that I got to be alongside you this year in UWL. You shine through with a dedication, strength, and engagement that I really admire- and I know will make you an incredible director. 

This has been (all at once!) one of the most difficult, wonderful, and formative jobs I’ve ever done. This is a role that makes you want to pour your whole heart into it, and if you chose to do so, every day is something new learned. As the director before me wrote to me, “This job has a way of testing you and making you doubt your decisions and capabilities sometimes, but don’t be afraid to trust your gut and remember that you were chosen for a specific reason”. This helped me through some of the times that I was feeling most challenged and disheartened. And I want you to know that you were chosen because you are absolutely brilliant, capable, and beyond qualified! We knew that you would continue evolving this program and inspiring the growth and connection in people’s lives that is so key to this community. Take risks, push the boundaries, and keep making UWL the beautiful, expansively inclusive space we dream of!! 🙂 

I am constantly in awe of the drive and dedication you have for the things you care about, and I could not imagine someone better suited to lead this program that has been so important in my (and many others’) lives. Please know I am always rooting for you, and always here to support you if you have any questions, doubts, or just want to rant (venting sessions are key). Best of luck, and I am so excited to see all of the brilliance you create!
