Weekly To Do’s

Check your emails, at least everyday. The Web requests bot on slack will update you about the requests which are sent through.

People will give you things to do, if you’re bored you can also ask around if people need anything.
To-do list
>Ideas for projects, and things that I left unfinished

  • records – The new ASUW records webpage was built, continue to maintain it. It still has a lot of bugs such as getting 404 Not found errors on uploads.
  • hours – I have been working on creating and updating the infrastructure for the hours section, the officeHoursBot is housed in asuweb1’s folder as well as the calendar-creator. Check git.asuw.org for more information
  • housing – housing is in ruby on rails, so it may be hard/impossible to fix if it breaks. See if you can get the idea started that we should shut it down, not many people use it anyways. Talk to the System Admin on getting this shut down.
  • centos – see the page in this guide on this project
  • senate – Last summer the new senate website was to be built, unfortunately this never happened, and we weren’t able to follow up and rebuild it. Please talk to the Senate as this seems like a priority.

Quarterly Goals

Try taking on a project one a quarter and use that to update the infrastructure.

Contacts/Meetings

The asuweb1 email, and asuweb2 i assume, have long records of correspondence, search through there for who former webmasters have contacted.

Christina Coop is a great resource.

Email me at aayush19saxena@gmail.com for further help.

OCOMM generally has a quarterly meeting, and the tech team (Webmasters + System Admin) will have a bi-weekly meeting with the Comm Director.
